5 days

So, only 5 days left now and I have SO much to do.

I still have to shop for everything on our packing list, get shots, complete financial check-in with LU, and pack a suitcase for 21 days that weighs under 50lbs. :\

Well, this should be an adventure to say the least.

The following link should work to take you guys to my packing list and itinerary.
That way you can know a little more of what's going on! :)

16 days and counting...

Only 16 days until I leave!
Time sure is flying by!

But honestly I want to take this post to simply ask you guys to pray for me.
Please pray that:
-I won't loose sight of what God is already showing me and what He will continue to show me through these next few weeks.
-I won't let anything get in the way. I struggle with self esteem and I don't want that to affect the way I serve the people in Thailand.
-I choose to look ahead instead of constantly looking back. I need to let things go and look forward to what God has in store for me.

The list could go on and on, but that's what's been on my mind lately.
I don't even know how many people actually read this blog, but thank you to the ones who do.
<3

PS: I got my packing list and trip itinerary :D I have some shopping to do!

less than a month left!

So a few days ago marked one month until I head to Lynchburg for Thailand training! I can hardly believe that everything has flew by so quickly and the trip is approaching at a fast speed. I can't wait, but at the same time I'm so unbelievably nervous. I ask anyone who reads this blog to please continue to keep me in your prayers. Pray that I won't let my nervousness get in the way of what God has planned out for this trip. I know that our entire team is going to be used in so many incredible ways and I don't want anything to come between that. We'll be getting our packing list soon and our itiniraries! I'm so excited to see everything laid out on paper of what I'm going to have to bring and prepare for!

In the mean time, yesterday was graduation. Again, I'm in total disbelief that I will never return to the halls of West Wilkes High School as a student. I am so excited for everything ahead of me, but it's still very sad to think about leaving behind all of the friends and memories that were made in high school. But as life goes on and I go into this new stage of my life I'm overall extremely stoked to see what God has in store!! It's going to be incredible!

Now that school is out I'll update the blog more often in these next few weeks as my trip to Thailand gets closer and closer. <3

just because I haven't updated in ages...

So I apologize that I haven't updated in months. Goodness, hopefully I'll get back on track now that things are starting to slow down. :)
The next few pictures will show some of the fun things that have happened over the past few weeks.
This was Chelsea and Dustin help me gather all of the many needed materials for the Chicken-Q!

PROM! It was a lot of fun. After contemplating not even going, I decided I would regret it if I missed senior prom. And then, I won prom queen, who would've thought?

And of course, they scheduled prom on MerleFest weekend...losers. But MerleFest was great, like always!

Chelsea and I skipped school to go see the play Holes, it was so cute!Dancing With The Principals! Mr. Gatewood RULES!

And yesterday our yearbook advisor decided to take us to the park for a picnic. We all had a great time being able to relax and enjoy the summer weather! :)

So, even though this doesn't have anything to do with Thailand...those are some of the things that have been going on in my life lately. I didn't have pictures of our quick trip to Liberty, Disciple Now weekend, or a few other things. But life is going really well. It's hard to believe that I graduate in only 17 (school) days now! I can't wait.
I'm starting to see that everyday has it's own meaning and everyday I learn something new. God is so amazing! I can't wait to see what He has in store for the next two months before I leave for Thailand and while I'm there! It's going to be such a great adventure. <3
PS. I'm sorry about the total random-ness of this blog...

Ephesians 3:20

I hope I don't see another piece of raw chicken for a very long time. Yesterday was the day I had been waiting on a for a few weeks, we did a Chicken-Q to raise money for my Thailand trip. Before the day even started yesterday we lots to do inorder to prepare for that long day. We successfully gathered 1,000 pounds of chicken (600 chicken halves), 22 gallons of slaw, 24 gallons of baked beans, 12 gallons of homemade BBQ sauce, 600 oatmeal cream pies, 600 rolls, eating utensils, foam go-boxes, 600 pounds of charcoal, and a lot of people to help bring everything together. It was the longest day of my life. Waking up at 2am and running on about an hour and a half of sleep was really tough! BUT everything turned out way better than expected. I had so many fabulous people there helping me! As I looked around while everything was going on, I thought about how much I was truly blessed. If you had been around me at all the past two weeks you know that I had been super busy with everything and stressed beyond belief. After everything was said and done yesterday I asked myself, why did I even worry? Do I not serve the God that is in charge of and made EVERYTHING? Of course He took care of everything!! At the end of the day I had made enough money to pay for almost every cent of the $3,800 total cost of the trip.

"With God's power working in us, He can do much, much more than anything we can ever ask or even imagine." Ephesians 3:20

bach bach to Bangkok ;)

Long time no blog, or that's what it feels like. The enevelope fundraiser went pretty well at church, not quiet what I was expecting, but many issues developed... Anyways, I'll be having a Chicken-Q next Saturday. It would be great if you and all of your friends would come out and buy a plate, or we can deliver it. With major deadlines fastly approcahing I'm praying that God will use this fundraiser and enable it to reach it's full potential. So, besides fundraising, life has been super busy lately. BUT I'm finally registered for my first semester of college classes! It's so crazy to think that in a few short months I'll be living in Lynchburg. What's even cooler though is that I'll have an amazing group of friends due to this trip. :)
Well, I must get some rest I have a long weekend ahead that consists of working, babysitting, house-sitting, Acts 1:8 Challange church conference, and prom dress shopping. <3

please pray!

This Sunday I'm going to be doing the envelope fundraiser.

It works like this, have 100 envelopes numbered 1-100. People can give any amount of donation, whether it's $2 or $48. I need lots of prayers. Please pray that this fundraiser will be successful.

Here's a picture of my poster board so far. It still needs a lot of work.
Well, I'm off to school now! <3
